In addition to lessons, Jim provides consultation in instrument selection, instrument repair, educational materials, preparation for higher education in music, recording, writing, arranging and performing.

• Teaching since 1980. Students have ranged from beginning to professional performers.

• Professional performance experience includes bands, song writing, pre-recorded and live TV performance, classical duos, classical ensembles, finger style jazz guitar and 12 years as a solo classical guitarist.

• Co-owner of FirstGuitar, providing instruments and educational resources for students of the guitar.
